ADSG Guitar Workshop
SOMA recently hosted a heartwarming Guitar Workshop in collaboration with Autoimmune Disease Singapore (ADSG). The 2-hour session saw participants dive into the basics of guitar playing while enjoying a fun and engaging learning experience. Under the expert guidance of Instructor Wady, the group made impressive progress, working through 1.5 songs.
The workshop was made even more special by Wady’s inspiring story. Diagnosed with anti-NMDA encephalitis, Wady faced a challenging recovery, but with the support of his wife, he picked up the guitar again. Music became a form of therapy, helping him heal both mentally and emotionally. His personal journey resonated deeply with participants, illustrating how music can heal, uplift, and empower.
The event was a great success, bringing the community together and supporting ADSG’s mission. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this meaningful experience. Stay tuned for more exciting and impactful events at SOMA!

Australian Music Night @ SOMA
Together with our partner university Australian Institute of Music (AIM), SOMA hosted an evening of music, clinics and sharing sessions, all revolving around the Australian music industry today. Julian Gough (Head of Pathways and Engagement) and Rupert Johnstone (Head of International) from AIM flew down to conduct clinics on developing your craft as a songwriter/artist and career options and academic pathways.
Our students gained insights into honing their skills as songwriters and producers, with practical tips and industry knowledge to guide them in their production process. Julian also shared AIM’s comprehensive courses and the unique pathway programme developed exclusively for SOMA graduates, allowing them to get transfer credits and direct admissions into Year 2 of AIM’s Bachelor programmes. There was also a special sharing session by 2 of our alumni Marie Angeline and Chloe Foo, currently pursuing their studies at AIM.
The event was a huge success and we thank everyone for joining us! Follow our socials for more exciting events to come. 🌟🎤
