Tan Xin Jie

Tan Xin Jie joined the String Ensemble as her CCA in primary school, where she picked up the violin at 8 years old and was later guided by violinist and now-conductor Luo Wei.

Being sure that she wants to take her passion for music to greater heights, Xin Jie auditioned and got a place in the School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA) where she improved on her violin playing under the careful tutelage of Ms Lillian Wang (2017-2021). She took the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP) in School of the Arts and recently graduated in year 2020.

Given a spot in the NUS Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music for 2021, she looks forward to improve her craft and performance as a violin major there under the Tutelage of Ng Yu-Ying.

When the Kids’ Philharmonic Orchestra in Singapore was founded in 2012, Xin Jie joined and played with them, and is currently still there as a pioneer orchestra member.
